ĭelta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a private, non-‐profit organization founded in 1913 at Washington, DC’s Howard University, is one of the largest women’s organizations in the world with over 200,000 members. Founded on its commitment to public service, TheFCAC’s agenda continues to effect change in the Washington, D.C. Since its inception, TheFCAC has continued its commitment to the community in arts, education, and social action through involvement with African-‐American art galleries, student cultural arts workshops, the Black College Tour, school trips to visit members of Congress, and the annual awarding of student scholarships. The members are actively involved in many programs and activities to promote the sorority’s national programmatic thrust. Its current membership consists of over 500 gifted and talented professional women residing in the Washington metropolitan area. The Federal City Alumnae Chapter (TheFCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was chartered on December 6, 1969.
